August Favourites

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel - £28.60
After having a surprise breakout of adult acne months ago I have been very interested in skincare. After clearing my skin (acne clearing post here) I decided to shake up my routine and have been ever since. Elemis Enzyme Peel is an exfoliating facial mask that purifies the skin. I have been using this a few times a week and have noticed an impressive difference in the hyper pigmentation I have been trying to fade for years. I have used this among other peels and this seems to be the most gentle, I didn't experience any stinging or burning and the smell is gorgeous.

John Frida Sheer Blonde -  I bought this when I had blonde hair then completely forgot about it. I've been having a major clean out and giving my room a bit of TLC this last month (this includes painting my ceiling while singing top note to Beyonce) and came across a few things I forgot I had. I'm impressed how nice it leaves your hair. As it's designed for blondes, who if are not naturally blonde put their hair through a lot, it's very thick and moisturising  That said, it's light enough to use every time you wash your hair. As my hair is mostly my natural colour now it has made my hair shiny and soft and seems to work wonders with a hair oil.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir 30ml £9.90 - I love this spray, as it has a heavy price tag, I wish I didn't. Although I haven't noticed a huge difference in my skin, I have noticed it wakes up tired looking skin and have thoroughly enjoyed using it this month. I like to spray this on my face after cleansing and let it sink in. I don't know what it is about this product, but I really like it. Like, really like it. The smell is very strong, I've seen a lot of people say they're not that fussed but I think it's refreshing. To me, it smells of strong peppermint mixed with something I can't quite put my finger on. Yes, I'm that amazing at describing scents.

Aphogee Keratain Treatment- Another product I swore I was going to use religiously then forgot about. Aphogee Keratin is another lightweight treatment that for the last month I have been using once a week. It provides moisture and strengthens your hair without leaving it weighed down. I really like the effect this has on my hair and should really stop being so lazy and stick to my weekly hair masks.

4kg Kettle bell An odd favorite but I've noticed a difference in a short time I've been using this. Using this with normal kettle bell exercises and as a weight when doing toning exercises I feel and look a little more toned in the areas I've been working on.

Wednesday Wishlist #1

Chanel Soleil Tan Bronze Universel £30 - I really can not justify spending so much on a bronzer. I think this is one of those 'point in the right direction when it's close to my birthday' products. I've wanted this little beauty for years but have never got around to buying it. The only reasons I have so far are:

1. I don't own any Chanel make up
2. I don't own a cream type bronzer
3. It's Chanel
... Maybe when I get to 5 ahaha.

K√©rastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique Nourishing Care for Dry Hair  £16.10 - This is next on my hair care list. Although it's pretty expensive it should last a long time as it's 150ml and a leave in conditioner. It apparently also cuts down drying time for a smoother and quicker finish. I've never tried Keratase before so I'm looking forward to trying trying this, I just need to use up my other 500 half used bottles of hair conditioner.

Laser Hair Removal System This is something I can guarantee I'll never buy but I thought I would add it in anyway. I hate hair and my body hates hair removal. One of these would be amazing. Unfortunately they cost about £250-£500.

Ikea Vika Alex Drawer Unit £55 - I was reading Elysa's blog and she had written a post on her dressing table/vanity set up and it really caught my eye. Elysa kindly sent me some pictures so I could see what everything looks like in 'real life' and I'd really love to have the same set of drawers. As I'm organising my bedroom at the moment I decided I need to invest in a small drawer set as I'm running out of space. These seem to be the ones I keep coming back to.

Product Warning | No Bump

I wasn't sure if I should write this post as a lot of people seem to love it. I bought this a while back when trying out some ingrown hair lotions and potions. Reading the back of the bottle I came across this:

This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

A little heavy for an ingrown hair treatment? I think so. I'm not sure what chemical causes the problems or anything really about the product or brand but I have decided against using this product. I'm sure some people are fine with it and have read reviews about it working brilliantly but it isn't for me. This post is not a don't buy from this brand but more of a heads up. If I had known about the warning on the back of the bottle  I wouldn't have bought it.

July Favourites

Philosophy Purity Cleanser - I was happily enjoying my Avene cleanser until summer struck. I don't deal with heat well let alone the heat wave type weather the UK has had lately. The sticky hot and bothered feeling is really not for me so I've switched back to my Philosophy Purity cleanser. It leaves your skin feeling like there isn't a trace of dirt or oil so it's perfect for me in the hot weather. My only gripe is that as it seems to remove all traces of oil it can make your face feel dry if you don't put a cream on straight away.

Castor Oil - As effective as Castor Oil is I never thought I would have it in my monthly favourites. I have lately decided to grow my eyebrows out as I've become a little tweezer happy and in a short space of time I have noticed a difference. Castor Oil also washes out of your eyebrows easily, unlike your hair.

Nars Laguna Bronzer - I've never been a bronzer person, I find the majority are shimmery and the matte types are invisible on the skin. Laguna is my perfect shade to bring some colour back in to my face without like a disco ball. In future instead of wasting money on cheaper brands I will probably re purchase this.

Mac Watch Me Simmer - As soon as I seen this lipstick I loved it but with the dull weather it got put in my collection and forgotten about. Typical impulse buy. Watch Me Simmer is a lovely bright coral colour which adds a nice pop of colour to natural summer make up.

The Fifty Shades Of Grey Trilogy - Yes, I know, everyone and their goat has been reading these books. Lately this trilogy's popularity has exploded and I have enjoyed slowly reading the last installment of the Trilogy in July.
